The road less travelled...

Well, not always!

But in these pages you'll find:

The tours

Australia Australia: being an Australian, much of my touring has been here in Australia. In the Australia pages you'll find both solo and group tours of varying lengths from 50 kms to 1400 kms

Africa Africa: well mostly along the Mediterranean coast of northern Africa. I've travelled in Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia. In the Africa pages you'll also find stuff on touring in Eritrea, Ethiopia and Sudan

France Europe: La France est l'Europe est lui pas? But there's also details about fantastic rides thru 'old' Europe - Belgium, Germany etc - and 'new' Europe - Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia and so-on. And Turkey too, but is that in Europe or not?

Middle East Middle East: For lots of reasons I've spent a lot of time in this part of the world, I've travelled in Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. In the Middle East pages you' ll find details of touring in Iran, Iraq, and Syria

Middle East Axles of Evil Tours: I happen to have travelled in a few of the countries that George Dubbya believed to be part of an Axis of Evil. I'm not really sure what I expected to find... and altho each place is completely different one thing they had in common was an incredible friendliness, wonderful hospitality and, well, the adjectives tell the story don't they? If you want to read some reflections on touring in the badlands then check out this lot ‑ tho quite obviously they are of 'historic' interest now, travel in any of 'em is out of the question at present..:.

The photos

The inevitable photo gallery...

If you really want any of the images on this site, then take them. Except for the boomerang trike logo image, cos that one is both © and ® and can only be used/reproduced etc etc etc by permission, but that's what the Contact tab is for...

The journal

I don't keep a 'proper' cyclists journal, you won't find any statistics about how far, how fast, how high I climbed or how long I rode each day, rather I just jot down stuff that interests me, or makes me laugh (or cry). These stories are more about 'flavour' than about details or how to do things and so I guess they say as much about me as they do about the places I find and the people I meet

Hope you find them of interest
